July 10, 2009 - An introduction

Welcome to my new blog.  Everyone seems to be doing this and I've enjoyed lots of blogs.  I thought I'd share my life and everything happening with you.  I'm 50ish and live in a small town in North Carolina.  I'm right outside our state capital of Raleigh.  I am the Park Manager for Bass Lake Park in Holly Springs.  Bass Lake is the jewel of Holly Springs.  We're a passive nature park and meeting center.  You can visit our website at basslakepark.com and see all the exciting things we're doing.

Enough about my passion for the Park and more about my life.  I've sewn for over 45 years and quilted for over 30.  That's a pretty long time!  I would not consider myself a 'professional', but I have taught quite a few basic classes.

I'm less than 5 years away from retirement.  At least I say that since I just can't quite decide if I'm ready to retire.  One day I'm ready and the next I start something new at the Park and I'm not ready.  My husband Chuck the Fireman and I have about an acre of land with our little house.  I have big plans for the property, but once again, I'll need to retire to get all that done!  I have lots of quilt tops to quilt and blocks to make into quilt tops.

We have 2 grown daughters, 3 Yorkshire Terriers, a Rat Terrier, and a stupid cat.  More about family in another post.

For now I hope you'll comment and share your blog.
